Yet another enthralling phase of World Cup qualification has just concluded in Africa. Many teams have begun separating themselves at the top of their respective groups in the hopes of attaining that highly coveted automatic qualification spot as quickly as possible.
One of the team's that have an unbeaten record in qualifiers are the record African champions in Egypt. The Pharaohs have won three of their four matches thus far in Group A and while they build their lead at the top of the mini table, they also have attackers who are building their lead atop of the goalscoring charts.
A player that has played a large part in helping the north African giants get where they are is Mohamed Salah. He scored one goal against Djibouti before bagging back-to-back braces against Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso.
Below is a list of the eight top goalscorers in the CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, as per Transfermarkt:
Since leaving the Aston Villa, Trezeguet has seemingly found a new lease of life in the Super Lig with Trabzonspor, bagging double digit goal hauls in his last two seasons with the club. However, rounding off the podium places in the CAF qualification goalscoring charts is another Premier League star in Jordan Ayew.
The 32-year-old is the subject of much criticism from Ghanaians whenever the Black Stars do not perform well, but with the west African giants currently level on points with group leaders Comoros in Group I, their fans are happy with the Crystal Palace man.
