The City Football Group (CFG), the holding company that administers all clubs under the ownership of Abu Dhabi United Group – which is owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan – recently added Lommel SK to their portfolio.

The Belgian second division side thus became the ninth club under the umbrella of the CFG, who have invested in teams in North America, South America, Australia as well as Asia, and are now reportedly looking to Africa.

According to Yallakora, the Emirati billionaire is keen to add Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC to his stable.

It is claimed talks have been opened with Pyramids, who were formed in 2018 after Al Assiouty Sport were bought out by their current owners and renamed, to become the 10th team in the City Football Group's portfolio.

Pyramids are currently in second place in the Egyptian Premier League, behind North African giants Al Ahly, but eyebrows were raised this week after reports suggested they have beaten "the Club of the Century" to the signing of Egytian winger Ramadan Sobhi from Huddersfield.
