The current head coach of the Egyptian giants, Marcel Koller, has endured a difficult time of late with the record African champions. It seems those affiliated with the club have not been too pleased with the performances the team have produced both domestically and on the continent, as the Swiss tactician has been placed under increasing scrutiny.
The team’s latest 1-1 draw in the Egyptian Premier League against the log leaders has further intensified speculation surrounding the 64-year-old’s future at the club, as it has been widely speculated that he will be out of the Cairo International Stadium come the end of the season.
While the Zurich native seems to have many detractors at the moment, there is one former executive member of the North African giants who has jumped to his defence.
Former Ahly chairman Adley El Keiy claimed that the 44-time league champions were unlucky to draw against Pyramids, but warned Koller not to ostracise his players like he alleges Mosimane did during his time in Cairo.
"Kohler is a respected coach, and we have seen since his arrival that he imposes justice within the team and gives opportunities to players who train hard,” El Keiy said, as per Kooora.

"Over time, we have seen that when Koller turns against a player, he lacks justice, just as former coach Pitso Mosimane did. I don't know the secret of the coach's stubbornness with the players,” he added.
