Notably, Musona retired from international duty in 2022 while being the country's all-time top scorer with 25 goals in 48 appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
Their qualifying home game against Benin on Thursday, 20 March, will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban due to Zimbabwe not having a CAF-approved venue on their own shores.
Musona joins a star-studded Warriors team, comprising the likes of Divine Lunga of Mamelodi Sundowns, Khama Billiat of Scotland FC, and Wolverhampton's new big-money signing Marshall Munetsi.
