The 2021/22 CAF Champions League final second-leg was the final time fans saw man known as 'Jingles' on the sidelines for the record African champions.
Shortly after that defeat to Wydad Athletic Club, the South African tactician and the Club of the Century decided to part ways.
Rumours have recently claimed that a certain club chief, Hossam Ghaly, was responsible for the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns boss' exit, but he has since come out to set the record straight.
"I am one voice within the Al Ahly club's planning committee," he said on a recent television show, according to mwlana.com.
"And there is no decision that is announced except by a majority, so how can I be accused of being the reason for the departure of Mosimane and Sayed Abdel Hafeez, confirming that I was subjected to systematic campaigns, and because of this matter was captured by Al Ahly fans.

"The departure of Mosimane and Abdel Hafeez from Al Ahly came by a decision of the Planning Committee with all its members, and not by a separate decision from anyone, and this is something that happens in all decisions issued by the Planning Committee, whether regarding the first team, the first of all the club's football team."
Mosimane is currently without a job following his recent departure from UAE-based side Al Wahda.
