Yesterday, we brought you the sixth to the tenth fastest shots ever recorded in football, and, today, we bring you the top five.
So, without further ado, here are the top five fastest shots ever recorded in football:
5. Ritchie Humphreys (154 km/h)
The former Sheffield Wednesday man was a strong, powerful forward and possessed an incredible volley, and when he hit one on his debut for the club, back in 1996 against Aston Villa, it couldn't be stopped.
4. David Trezeguet (154.5 km/h)
The French striker, who spent a long time with Italian giants, Juventus, scored a cracker with Monaco against Manchester United as a youngster in 1998. His powerful shot helped him to become a World Cup and European Champion later in his career.
3. David Beckham (157.5 km/h)
There's only one David Beckham! The iconic Englishman was able to strike the ball with unbelievable pace in his playing days and grabs the bronze medal on our list.
2. David Hirst (183 km/h)
Back in 1993, David Hirst (another Sheffield Wednesday player) recorded an explosive shot against Arsenal. Unfortunately, the ball didn't hit the back of the net… but at that speed, it's still counted on our list
1. Ronny Heberson (210 km/h)
You may not have heard of Heberson before today, but if you see his incredible 210 km/h strike for Sporting Lisbon in November 2006, you will become a fan straight away. The thunderous strike left the goalkeeper and the wall with absolutely no chance! And it's enough to top our list!
So there's our list! I hope you enjoyed it!
Who didn't make our list that you would like to have seen on it?
