Having a quality goalkeeper is vital in today's game and seeing that they able to play till at least 40 years old, we feel it's vital to snap them up early as they can develop into their roles.
Here is our top five young goalkeepers in the world:
Marc-André ter Stegen (Germany and Barcelona)
The youngster moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2014 and has been earmarked as Manuel Neuer's replacement for Germany. The highly-rated 22-year-old has represented Germany at several youth levels and made his senior international debut in 2012. He is yet to establish himself in the Barca team, with the more experienced Chilean Claudio Bravo currently preferred.
Thibaut Courtois (Belgium and Chelsea)
The 22-year-old signed for Chelsea in 2011 but was understudy to Petr Cech. As a result, he was loaned out to Atlético Madrid. Following a good World Cup for Belgium, as well as impressive performances against Chelsea as his Spanish side made it through to the Champions League final, convinced Jose Mourinho to recall Courtois. He is now Chelsea No1.
David de Gea (Spain and Manchester United)
The Spaniard, now 24, moved to Old Trafford from Atlético Madrid for £17.8 million, a British record for a goalkeeper, in 2011. Has since blossomed into one of the best stoppers in the world, and under Louis van Gaal he has thrived. He made his Spanish debut in 2013 and now has three caps to his name, making it look likey that he will be Iker Casillas' long-term heir.
David Ospina (Colombia and Arsenal)
The Colombian international is a star of the future. He grabbed everyone's attention at this year's World Cup. The 26-year-old has made 160 appearances for his ex- French club, Nice, and had a great season averaging 2.7 saves a game in 2012-13. After the World Cup he made the move to Arsenal where he is yet to stamp his mark.
Joseph Fabrice Ondoa Ebogo (Cameroon and Barcelona B)
The Cameroonian formed part of the academy run by the Samuel Eto'o Foundation. He started out in the U12 team, and in 2009 came to La Masia. With the U16 team he won the national and world Nike Premier Cup titles.
Ondoa is physically strong, agile brave and good with his feet. He was promoted to Barça B in the 2014/15 season after two years in the U18 team, where he gained valuable European experience. He has already played for the Cameroon national team, and is currently playing for the FCB reserves. It may well be the springboard to his consideration with the Indomitable Lions.
