One major point of interest to all football fans is the subject of boots. Today, we take a look at some of the most iconic boots in history.
10. Puma V1.06
These days, the V1.06 boots may not look particularly extraordinary, but when they were released in 2006 in time for the World Cup in Germany, these boots were the subject of a revolutionary style of footwear for footballers. It was the lightest pair of boots ever made at the time, and set a trend for kit manufacturers to design lightweight attire.
9. Adidas F50
Adidas changed the way we look at boots back in 2004. With the F50s, they hid the laces from view with this design of footwear. Eventually, it was realized that the laces should not be hidden, but nonetheless, the F50 design was incredibly popular, and it is still being produced to this day.
8. Adidas Tunit
The Adidas Tunit (AKA the F30) was an all-in-one boot that changed the market. Depending on the weather and/or your preferences for comfort or lightweight, you could alter everything from the chassis to the studs of your boots to suit whatever your needs were on a particular football game.
7. Nike Total 90
Who didn't own a pair of these at some point? The advertising campaign, and the boot itself were absolutely revolutionary. The comfort provided by these boots for a full 90-minute match, as well as the off-centre laces made this pair of boots amongst the most popular in the world when it was released in 2002.
6. Mizuno Wave Cup
Mizuno must be the most recognisable name on our list. Worn by Rivaldo back in the 1990s, the brand is currently spearheaded by Japanese star, Keisuke Honda, and the configuration of the studs on these boots set a benchmark for every set of boots that followed after its release.
