SA Stadium Among The Strangest In The World

SA Stadium Among The Strangest In The World

Since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa has been able to brag about having some of the finest facilities and stadiums across the land, but did you know we have some strange ones too?

Well, according to the website The Red Bulletin, Mafikeng's Mmabatho Stadium has made the list of some of the strangest stadia built across the globe.

This list covers everything from Cagliari's stadium within a stadium, Sant'Elia, to Singapore's floating field in Marina Bay.

But what makes this stadium so strange? Well, its design!

The Mmabatho's stands are built rather oddly in that each block sits at a different height and at awkward angles.

According to The Red Bulletin: "You need to check it out because... it proves that football stadiums don't have to be practical. Or useful. Or pretty."

This 59 000-seater is no longer utilised for PSL and Bafana Bafana games, but is the home of the North West University.

Have you been to this stadium?
