In what has been a long time coming, Mamelodi Sundowns have officially revealed their new club logo, but how does the new crest compare to its predecessor?
Back in October 2019, the club ran a competition asking fans to design an upgraded logo in honour of their 50th anniversary.
Downs insisted at the time that they do not want supporters to create an all new crest, but to rather give the old one a slight refreshing. The winner of the competition would then pocket R50 000, with six finalists being chosen towards the end of October 2019.

That said, the new Sundowns crest does not sport many significant changes compared to the previous one, with the ribbon shortened and the club's famous hand sign being more defined. The inner circle of the original crest was removed as well.
