Not all footballers prefer the big SUVs or sports vehicles, many of them take the understated approach as we check out some of the cheaper rides in the PSL. Have a look!

What's the story?

In general, fans usually get to see their favourite ballers driving in sportscars and SUVs, many of which are expensive and heavy on fuel. Some, however, don't mind rocking up to training in a humble hatchback or utility vehicle.

Take Siphiwe Tshabalala for one, the AmaZulu man often shows off his Opel Corsa bakkie, one of the country's most popular vehicles. In today's market, a second-hand Corsa bakkie can be picked up for as little as R70 000 and his deemed to be a workhorse in its segment.

Footballer's favourite

The Volkswagen Polo is a top seller in South Africa and is one of the most affordable hatchbacks in its class. Players such as Siphesihle Ndlovu, Grant Margeman and Keletso Makgalwa can be seen in the vehicle which is priced from around the R287 000 mark.
