During Orlando Pirates' treble winning season, the combination of Oupa Manyisa and Andile Jali in the midfield was one that destroyed the opposition, running rings around their opponents for fun. However, the same can't be said on the national scene.
The two only partner up with each other when called up for Bafana Bafana, and many were expecting the duo to make the field tick just like they did at Pirates. However, that has not been the case…
The last two fixtures for Bafana Bafana have seen the duo look out of sorts and the Bucs DNA they used to talk about doesn't seem to be there any longer.
While their performances weren't a disaster, the duo isn't proving to have that incredible relationship and partnership they used to have when at Pirates.
Jali's European move has undoubtedly impacted their ability to keep on song with each other and understand one another's movements, and that is understandable. While it can also be said that they aren't playing in the same positions from when they were at Pakrtown, with Manyisa now playing out wide.
Should Shakes try move away from what the duo used to produce and maybe set them up in a different light? What are your thoughts?
