The story

PUMA and Manchester City have unveiled City's fresh new Home kit for the 2024/25 season, intricately designed to embody the essence of Manchester.

Infused with the vibrant city's spirit, the sky-blue kit features subtle nods to its Mancunian heritage, notably with the incorporation of '0161' in its trim – an homage to the city's distinct identity.

More than a mere dialling code, '0161' symbolizes the essence of Manchester, visible on various facets of its culture, from lampposts to tattoos. It encapsulates the essence of being Mancunian, regardless of one's location worldwide.

'0161' is intricately woven into the captivating trims of City's new Home kit, inviting fans globally to embrace, experience, and resonate with Manchester's cultural heritage.

From the streets of East Manchester to distant corners like Istanbul and Norway, the kit serves as a tangible connection to the city's ethos.

Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail Licensing, Manchester City said:

"Every year our kits provide us with an opportunity to connect with our fans in Manchester, the UK and globally, as shirts and wider kit collections, are an increasingly popular token of fandom. By incorporating '0161' in this year's Home kit - something that resonates so strongly with the City of Manchester - we're able to connect fans around the world with the club and our city in a different way.

"We're also pleased that all of our Replica shirts are made using PUMA's RE:FIBRE initiative, as we continue to work towards a more sustainable future together," she added.

To celebrate the kit launch and Manchester's rich cultural tapestry, the unveiling video featured Mancunian rapper Mikey Taylor (Tays), who composed and performed the soundtrack, echoing the essence of '0161' and Mancunian identity.

Speaking about his involvement in the launch, Tays said: "As a City fan, it is a dream come true to write and perform a track for the launch of the new Manchester City 24/25 Home kit, celebrating 0161 and what it is to be Mancunian. I love how it's in the design of the shirt – it's fresh, but still reflects what it means to be City. I hope fans around the world connect with the track, and I can't wait to see the team walk out in this kit."

Marco Mueller, PUMA's Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, lauded the kit as a testament to Mancunian pride and Manchester City fandom.

He emphasized the incorporation of the RE:FIBRE initiative in crafting replica jerseys, underscoring a shift towards sustainable manufacturing practices.

The RE:FIBRE process, focusing on recycling textile waste to create new materials, ensures a circular and sustainable approach to jersey production. This aligns with PUMA and Manchester City's shared vision for environmental stewardship.

Available in both replica and authentic versions, the Home jersey combines cutting-edge technology with comfort and performance. The replica jersey, designed for fans, incorporates dry-CELL sweat-wicking technology for optimal comfort during matches or everyday wear.

Made with PUMA's RE:FIBRE recycling technology, the jersey embodies both style and sustainability. The authentic jersey, worn by elite players and fans alike, features PUMA's ULTRAWEAVE fabric for enhanced performance and an athletic fit.

Furthermore, the kit will be showcased in the gaming realm, with exclusive reveals in popular games like Fortnite, marking a pioneering collaboration between PUMA, Manchester City, and the gaming community.

The Manchester City Home kit will be available on 16 May from PUMA retail stores, PUMA.com, Totalsports, Sportsman warehouse and Studio 88.
