The story
Khama Billiat returned to South African soil to play an important role in The Warriors securing qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations.
The Warriors secured their qualification with a match to spare, sitting in second place in Group J with nine points from five matches—just two points behind group leaders Cameroon, who have played the same number of games.
Billiat had announced his retirement from international football in 2021, two months before the start of the AFCON, before reversing his decision earlier this year, returning to the national team ahead of Zimbabwe's opening AFCON qualifiers against Kenya and Cameroon to help strengthen the squad.
Since returning to International football, Billiat has provided his nation with a much needed creative spark, managing two goal contributions in five outings, including the assist to Tawanda Maswanhise's goal that booked the Warriors' place in Morocco next year against Kenya in Polokwane.
After Friday's 1-1 draw to Kenya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs attacker had to be escorted off by policemen to avoid rabid fanfare from adoring supporters:
