In light of the Cape Town Cup which will take place this weekend with Crystal Palace and Sporting Lisbon being the guests of the tournament, I look at international clubs that have travelled to Mzansi.
Many teams come to South Africa as part of the pre-season preparations, and over the years we are seeing more and more teams visiting one of the world's most beautiful countries.
Tottenham Hotspurs
The White Hart Lane outfit was one of the first international clubs to come to South Africa, when they travelled to our country back in the 1960's. They have since formed an alliance with SuperSport United and are often in the country.
Crystal Palace
The Eagles were the first foreign team to visit South Africa after Spurs. Their trip (in 1992) took place during tense period in South Africa's history and they played both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
AC Milan
In the year of Mzansi's first democratic elections, the Rossoneri travelled to South Africa to help celebrate the special occasion, where they played a match at Ellis Park. Ruud Gullit was a popular figure after he had dedicated his 1987 Ballon d'Or accolade to President Nelson Mandela.
Hoffenheim
The German outfit were recently here for a match against Kaizer Chiefs as well as a week-long training camp.
Manchester United
The Red Devils have made a few trips to South Africa, where they have taken on the likes of Ajax Cape Town, AmaZulu, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
Barcelona
They brought down Ronaldinho and the whole of the country wanted to watch him in action. The Catalans have come to South Africa on more than on occasion, and the fans are certainly hoping that they return again soon.
Sporting Lisbon
The Portuguese outfit are currently in the country where they will participate in the Cape Town Cup this weekend. They will take on Ajax Cape Town in their semi-final clash on Friday.
Wolfsburg
The German giants were here in South Africa last year, where they brought down the likes of Nicklas Bendtner, Andre Schurrle and Kevin De Bruyne.
What other teams can you think of?
