Football players are not always blessed with movie star looks… Not everybody can look like David Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo, and for Halloween this year, we bring you five players that will be looking better with their masks on!
Pepe
As a Real Madrid fan, I have to wonder how Pepe ever made it to our team… given his terrible features. A club famous for opting to buy David Beckham rather than Ronaldinho, because "Beckham would sell more shirts", really went against their own policy when signing the Brazilian-born, Portuguese centre back.
Joleon Lescott
Lescott, who has spent time with Everton and Manchester City and is now playing at West Brom, unfortunately hasn't been graced the best of looks. His receding hairline and scar on his forehead hasn't seen him any beauty pageants.
Franck Ribery
Unfortunately, Bayern Munich's French winger, Franck Ribery, was in a car accident at a young age, and now bears a massive scar on his face that just adds to his unfortunate looks. In Franck's defence though… he does play some pretty fantastic football.
Carlos Tevez
Juventus' Argentine striker, Carlos Tevez, is everything but a sight to behold… As a kid, he suffered an awful incident that saw him get terribly burnt around his face and neck. He is a Premier League legend though, and he may have been a far bigger star if only he were better looking.
Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney is a terrific player, of that there is no doubt. He's been a poster boy for English football ever since he was a teenager, but it has nothing to do with the way he looks. Wayne has been nicknamed "Shrek" because of his big ears. He also suffered from male-pattern baldness before he got hair plugs, which haven't helped him at all in terms of his appearance.
Who do you think is the ugliest footballer?
