Post football retirement life: Gavin Lane

Gavin Lane enjoyed a successful career as part of Orlando Pirates' golden era in the 1990s.

The Boksburg-born stalwart helped the Buccaneers capture the 1994 NSL championship, and played a major role the next year as they became the first South African club to capture the CAF Champions League.

After football, Lane has raised two sons with his wife Lesley in Durban and has built a successful business, Gavin Lane Projects, where they specialise in paintings and renovations.

"GLP has over 16 years in the industry with the vision to bring 'stability' to all clients," reads his bio that cheekily uses his nickname as part of their selling point.
