In today's feature of future Ballon D'Or winners, we take a look at Bayern Munich's talented midfielder, Mario Gotze.
Gotze has probably already experienced the most important moment of his short career when he netted the goal that won Germany this summer's World Cup in Brazil, after extra time in the final against Argentina. At the age of just 22, Gotze has already established himself as one of the best players in the game and it should only be a matter of time before he's considered for the award that is handed to the best in the world by FIFA.
Gotze grabbed all the headlines in the 2012/13 season when he led Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final and scored 10 goals, plus eight assists, in 20 appearances in the Bundesliga that season.
The man, who was once dubbed 'the German Messi' is incredible at holding onto the ball, makes plenty of key passes in the final third, and is one of the best dribblers in the game.
Despite struggling to break into Bayern's first team under Pep Guardiola last season, Gotze is now establishing himself in the Spaniard's starting 11, with four goals in six appearances this season, and it seems that he is starting to become the most important player in the superbly talented team that will be looking to win a clean sweep of trophies once again in 2014/15.
There's no doubt that the future holds great things for Mario Gotze, and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for us fans…
Do you think Mario Gotze can win the Ballon D'Or sometime in the future?
