Yesterday, we brought you the first five of our feature for the top 10 Footballers with Tattoos. Today, we continue our countdown with the top five.
5. Stephen Ireland
The former Manchester City midfielder, Steven Ireland, now playing at Stoke has an amazing tattoo of angel wings on his back.
4. Djibril Cisse
The French legend has over 40 works of art emblazoned across his whole body and it is a pretty logical addition to his eccentric sense of style…
3. Marco Materazzi
Italian Marco Materazzi has an array of designs from wings on his back to his wife and daughters' names. The World Cup trophy is also imprinted on his left thigh
2. Christian Vieri
Christian Vieri picked the Kanji symbols etched on his right arm because he liked the look of them. Luckily, they turned out to mean "strength, eternity, thunder" and not "weakness, transience and slightly overcast"
1. David Beckham
Becks set the trend for players to get tattoos when at the height of his powers in the late 90s when he had the name of his first child, Brooklyn, tattooed across his neck. Now, Beckham sports a 60cm-long tattoo over this right arm, including a Knight Templar, and a giant guardian angel that is emblazoned across his back
It's quite astounding that players can get away with these tattoos. But they sure are quite cool!
Which player's tattoos do you think are the best?
