Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich really does not mind splashing the cash, and yet again, he has bought himself a new $600 million superyacht named "Solaris". Check it out!
According to Bloomberg, the Russian has a net worth of R277 billion and is ranked 109th amongst the world's 500 richest people, so it makes sense why he would splash R8.9 billion on a boat.

What's the story?
Yachts are not really popular for being a mode of transport. If anything, they are a luxury asset that is commonly owned by high-net-worth individuals who use them for leisure purposes rather than commuting from one location to another.
The billionaire's 138.6-meter-long superyacht has eight decks, a single helipad, and a staggering 36 sleeping rooms – it's basically a moving resort, you could say!
Abramovich has another R22 billion yacht named Eclipse, and it is 162.4-meters-long, and it's believed that it is not the business mogul's biggest yacht!
The Big Boss
Although many know him through Chelsea, Abramovich has an illustrious business career and an extensive track record across various industries.
The Chelsea boss is the largest shareholder of Evraz, which is Russia's second-biggest steelmaker, and he also has shares in Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of refined nickel.
He is also believed to have amassed his wealth from dividends and sales of privatized assets obtained from the former Soviet Union, including Sibneft and Aeroflot.
Football Success
The 54-year-old Abramovich took over Chelsea in 2003 and since then, Chelsea has won five Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.
Under his leadership, he has overseen 15 different managers in 18 years and is not known for his patience, as Thomas Tuchel was just appointed in January this year.
