The story
The Happy People remain in shock over Pirates announcing that Riveiro will depart at the end of the season when his three-year contract expires.
Riveiro, who's won five trophies this far, and is in contention for three more, during his successful stint at the Soweto giants has, usurpingly become a hugely popular figure with the supporters.
With his popular 'Riveiro' chant, the Spanish mentor will be sorely missed by the club's passionate supporters. Social media was abuzz with speculation over who should succeed the 49-year-old.
Big names like five-time league winner, Pitso Mosimane, Wydad Athletic head coach Rulani Mokwena and even current Bucs assistant coach, Carlos Norda Paz were floated around on the timeline as Jose's potential replacement.
A number of fans joked about the prospect of Pitso taking over the Buccaneers and changing the positions of players, as he's done successfully at his trophy-laden tenure with Mamelodi Sundowns.
