The story
As one of Abafana Bes'thende's most experienced campaigners, Zimbabwe International Knox Mutizwa shared some poignant words to his teammates.
Arrows fans were given a glimpse into the striker's lifestyle Striker, as the club's media team followed Mutizwa working hard at training and kicking back at a post-training braai with his teammates.
Arrows' all-time leading goal scorer, who has been at the Durban-based club since 2017, spoke about the difficulties most footballers face when making it professional, which includes looking after family back home and the pressure of saving the money earned from a short playing career.
"One thing that's important that we tend to avoid speaking about is that most of soccer players grew up under difficult circumstances. So, when you think about it, soccer is not a long career," said Knox.
"You have to save money and you come from a poor background, so your family is relying on you at the end of the month. Do you see how strong you have to be mentally?" added the Bulawayo-born baller.
