The Siya crew has been led to believe that Mamelodi Sundowns are unlikely to welcome back Thembinkosi Lorch next season, despite him starting to pick up some form at Wydad Casablanca.
Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso revealed that Lorch was unhappy before leaving the club to join Wydad on loan in January. The player opened his scoring account for Wydad on Saturday night in a 1-1 draw with IR Tanger.

Lorch's deal with Wydad is until the end of June 2025 and expectations are that he will return to Chloorkop to start pre-season preparations when his contract in Morocco has come to an end. The player could stay longer at Wydad and play at the FIFA Club World Cup later this season, but that decision is only expected to be made at the end of the campaign.
The Siya crew understands that Sundowns are planning for the future with some of the younger players in their squad and there's a high chance of Lorch not being part of the team next term. Indications are that coach Miguel Cardoso, as well as sporting director Flemming Berg, are open to the player not making a return to the club, as Sundowns are also looking at what's available in the transfer window.
Sundowns have always been a club that plans ahead with their transfer targets and the Siya crew understands that there is a team already looking at what their squad could look like next season, especially with their desire to constantly do well on the African continent.

Lorch, meanwhile, is also expected to weigh his options, especially if he cannot stay at Wydad beyond the end of this season.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
