Sukazi Aiming For More Players To Go Overseas Without Trials

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi is determined to see the club producing players who sign contracts abroad without needing to go on trials, as is the case with their latest export.

The club has agreed a deal with Norwegian club Molde for Samukelo Kabini to make a move before the end of the month and an announcement is expected to be made for around R15 million.

Kabini did not need to go on trial, as has been the case with some other players from other PSL clubs. Examples of players who have gone on trial in Europe in recent years are Relebohile Mofokeng and Mduduzi Shabalala, of Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs respectively.

Before Kabini, winger Aphelele Teto signed for Scottish Premier League club Livingston from the Rockers without having to go on trial. Teto has since returned to the PSL on loan to Chippa United from Livingston.

"What people need to appreciate is the business acumen TS Galaxy has, especially moving a player to a team that plays in UEFA competitions without a trial. Our players go overseas with trials. This talks to the quality of players we are producing. Now we have Ndamane, who is a subject matter of interest nationally. Because of the university of football at the club, we educate football here. We are producing quality and it's being appreciated abroad.

"You won't hear that a player went for trials there and you hear nothing. Here, you leave TS Galaxy and you go. No trials involved. If you are good enough at our standard, you go abroad. That's the club we have become and that's what we need to be able (to show). We need to keep producing players who attract overseas interest and become national assets. It's our mandate to the nation."

With more youngsters expected to come through in future, Galaxy could be sending more players abroad.
