According to Kora Plus, the White Knights are on the cusp of appointing José Peseiro as their new manager.
The Portuguese tactician successfully led the Super Eagles to their first AFCON final in nine years after defeating Hugo Broos' charges at the last continental showpiece.
However, he was unable to guide the West African giants to a fourth title, as they were beaten by host nation Ivory Coast in the competition's final.
That was his last game in management, as he left the position after the tournament. Peseiro has been linked with a number of jobs on the African continent since then, with the likes of Wydad Athletic Club and Raja Club Athletic previously showing interest in the Coruche native.
Now, he is set to return to Egypt, where he will take charge of the five-time CAF Champions League winners.
The same report claims that Peseiro will be assisted by a technical staff consisting of Abdel Wahed El Sayed as football director, Nuno Ferreira as general coach, Ayman Abdel Aziz as assistant coach, Michael José Oliveira as fitness coach, Vítor Hugo Almeida as performance analyst, and Nuno Miguel Carabato as goalkeeper coach.
