The winner of their matchup will face either Comoros or Malawi in the second qualification round.
Algeria, Gabon, and Gambia are the other three nations in contention for the final two qualification spots in the competition.
The tournament was originally supposed to be held in February, but due to adequate facilities not being built on time, it has been postponed to August.
It has been suggested that South Africa will likely send one of their junior national teams to compete in CHAN should they successfully qualify, due to fixture congestion within the Premier Soccer League.
