On Thursday, it was confirmed that the North African giants will be facing South Africa at all the AFCON tournaments in 2025.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Bafana Bafana and the Pharaohs will meet at African football's biggest tournament at the end of the year in Morocco. However, following the recent conclusion of the Under-17 and Under-20 AFCON group stage draws, it has now been confirmed that the two nations will also face each other at both iterations of the youth tournament.
The Under-20 AFCON group, where both sides have been drawn, is perhaps the toughest in the competition, as Egypt and South Africa have been pitted against record tournament winners Nigeria and 1997 champions Morocco.
Young Pharaohs coach Osama Nabih was quizzed on his thoughts about facing Amajita, the Flying Eagles, and the Young Atlas Lions, and he believes his charges are ready to emerge victorious and qualify for the Under-20 FIFA World Cup.
"The Egyptian youth team is fully prepared for all scenarios and aims to qualify for the World Cup," he told Kooora.
"We have a promising generation of players, and we will do our best to reach the furthest point," he added.

This is the first time the Young Pharaohs have successfully qualified for the Under-20 AFCON since 2017, but they have not progressed past the group stage since 2013, when they last won the title.
