Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Edwin Saavedra has spoken for the first time since leaving Chloorkop to return to his native Bolivia.

This past transfer window, Masandawana welcomed two South Americans to their facilities. First, Matias Esquivel returned from his loan stint at CA Talleres, and from the same club, the Betway Premiership league leaders signed Lucas Suarez on a loan deal.
However, in order to accommodate the integration of the Argentines, some other foreign players needed to make way, and Saavedra was let go. The 28-year-old joined Ka Bo Yellow in 2022 but only amassed 13 appearances during his time with the South African champions, largely due to injuries.
Now the playmaker has returned to his boyhood club Bolívar La Paz, and he claims that he is proud to have returned to the club where he emerged as a professional.
"It was a lot of years that I spent at the club, I was there since I was 16," the midfielder said, as per Bolivar 24/7 Radio.
"Every year was an experience for me, adapting to any position and developing to the best in every game. That made me a player where I can develop in every position and learn from the greatest I've seen happen.

"That was very important. Every year, the club has grown a lot. The intensity and responsibility that comes with representing this shield is something big. Defending these colours will always be a privilege and an honour."
