It seems that the chiefs of the White Knights have grown disillusioned with their current head coach, Cristian Gross.
The Swiss tactician returned to Cairo for a second stint with the five-time CAF Champions League winners in December and, while results were initially going well, it seems that the club chiefs have become disillusioned with the Zurich native.
According to WinWin, the Zamalek board feel as though the level of the players has declined ever since former head coach Jose Gomes left the club for the Saudi Pro League and Gross succeeded him.
The same report claims that, despite the fact that the 70-year-old has managed to string back-to-back wins against Ismaily and Pharo FC in the Egyptian Premier League, any negative result for the club in the immediate future will likely prove to be the end of Gross' time at the Cairo International Stadium.
It is understood that the North African giants already have a number of possible replacements lined up to take over from their current head coach, and it seems that Mosimane may be one of them.

A former Zamalek star, Ahmed Dowidar, was recently on the radio claiming that the Kagiso native has been shortlisted as a potential successor to Gross, but it is also understood that Brazilian Rogerio Micale is in the running for the post should the Egyptian juggernauts decide to appoint a new manager.
