Nasreddine Nabi is now the lead tactician for the Glamour Boys, but before the commencement of the 2024/25 campaign, several head coaches were touted as possible candidates to become permanent replacements for Molefi Ntseki.
Ultimately, the top brass at Naturena decided that the Tunisian tactician would be their new boss for the foreseeable future, but one of the other potential appointments was Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos.
The Lisboa native had achieved incredible success with Petro de Luanda in the Girabola, winning three successive league titles before calling time on his career in Angola at the end of last season.
Santos was rumoured to be the frontrunner for the Amakhosi job, but after Nabi was chosen as the club's new head coach, he opted to coach CS Sfaxien in Tunisia as his next challenge.
His adventure with Juventus El Arab did not go according to plan, however, as poor results in the league and the CAF Confederation Cup led to his eventual departure in December.
It has not taken long for him to find a new job, as he has now been appointed head coach of Nabi's former club, AS FAR.
According to WinWin, the 48-year-old will earn $25 000 (±R462 000) a month for the rest of the season, and should he achieve the goals agreed upon with the board, he will be given an extension.
