South African coach Fadlu Davids is reportedly in pole position to take a new job at one of the CAF Champions League quarter-finalists after they fired their manager on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Moroccan giants AS FAR announced the departure of their manager Hubert Velud following a run of poor results.

According to Transfermarkt, the Frenchman lasted 21 games in charge, claiming nine wins, nine draws, and three defeats, with two of the losses being his final matches at the club.
An official statement on AS FAR's official Facebook account confirmed: "The Royal Army Club announces its mutual agreement to part ways with coach Hubert Velud following recent results.
"Assistant coach Jamil Bnouahi will take charge of the team until a new head coach is appointed."
A new report by AfricaFootUnited now claims that Davids has become the immediate favourite to replace Velud at AS FAR.
The report adds that the current Simba SC coach is viewed as someone who could bring a new dynamic to AS FAR thanks to his experience, having worked with Orlando Pirates and Raja Athletic Club.
As things stand, there is no indication that the role would appeal to Davids as Simba are currently in a title race.
Notably, though, Davids' side Simba are currently in a title race in the Tanzanian Premier League, as they sit second, trailing log leaders Young Africans by two points with a game in hand.
Interestingly, Young Africans also parted ways with their manager Sead Ramovic this week, with the German-Serbian joining CR Belouizdad in Algeria.
