The official spokesperson for Wydad Athletic Club, Mohamed Talal, has revealed that the club has received a R22 million cash injection thanks to Rulani Mokwena's decision to sign Thembinkosi Lorch.
Mokwena is believed to have been the mastermind behind Lorch's loan move to Wydad.
The South African winger joined the Moroccan powerhouses on loan for the remainder of the season, with Wydad retaining the option to sign him on a permanent contract at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Mokwena's recommendation to bring in Lorch has now led to Wydad receiving a financial boost.
The club's spokesperson, Talal, has since revealed that Mokwena requested the club sell Mauritanian forward Sidi Bouna Amar due to Lorch's arrival, prompting the former to leave Wydad in a profitable move to Libyan outfit Al-Ittihad SC.
In a television interview, Talal stated: "The transfer of Bouna Amar to Al-Ittihad Libya injected 4.4 million dirhams (R22 million) into the club's treasury. This transfer was made at the request of coach Mokwena, especially after the club signed Lorch Thembinkosi, who plays in the same position as Bouna Amar.
"Bouna Amar wanted to experience a new challenge and change his environment. This decision was reached through mutual agreement between all parties. He was also well aware that he would not be able to retain his starting position in the team for the remainder of the second half of the season.
"Parting ways with Bouna Amar was financially beneficial for the club. I hope that future transfers will be similar to this one—not solely for financial profit but as well-thought-out decisions that align with the coaching staff's vision for Wydad.
"I spoke with the coaching staff about strengthening the defence, and there was talk about Jamal Harkas moving to another club.
"Jamal Harkas has not managed to complete a transfer to another team and is currently staying with us.
"If we talk about defensive reinforcements, there is the signing of player Mohamed El Jadidi, who was brought in from Chabab Mohammédia and has a promising future ahead."
