The story
Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star Keagan Dolly has enjoyed a professional career that many young South African ballers would dream of.
Having won the CAF Champions League with Masandawana, plying his trade in Ligue 1 with Montpellier and captaining the most supported club in the country, Dolly can be proud of what he's achieved in the game so far.
Now in the second phase of his career, the newly-signed TS Galaxy attacker was one of the guests on SABC's Sports @ 10 show on Wednesday, where he was asked about his impact on the game by host Andile Ncube.
Dolly was also quizzed about whether he ever takes time to look back what he's achieved in his career over the last decade.
"I think in the past few months now, [where I was] still looking for a club, trying to find the right place for me and my family, I reflected a bit," said the School of Excellence product.
"[I was] thinking of how hard I worked in the past and what I still want to achieve, going forward. So yeah, there was a bit of reflection from my side but there's new goals and new things that I want to achieve," noted Dolly.
The 31-year-old did not have enjoyed the most successful spell at Amakhosi, with the majority of his last few years at the club being ridden with long-term injuries.
Despite the shortcomings at the Glamour Boys, Dolly still holds his childhood club close to his heart, stating that it was a dream to represent them.
"When I came back from France in 2021, when the opportunity came to join Kaizer Chiefs, I was happy. The family was happy because of my dad as well. That's the reason why I started supporting the club, my dad was a big Doctor Khumalo fan and I just went a long with it," shared Dolly, who added:
"I started liking the club growing up and to play for the club was a good experience, although I would've loved for it to have been a bit better, in terms of success, personally and for the club, but it's football.
"I wish the club all the best for the new season and with the new coach, new players. For me, it's time to focus on TS Galaxy and what the club wants to achieve," stated Dolly.
