Rumours surrounding the potential for Brazilian superstar Neymar to reunite with former Barcelona teammates Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have intensified in recent days.
This speculation was sparked by Neymar's recent acquisition of a stunning waterfront property in Bal Harbour for $26 million, according to the Miami Herald.
"It's a record price for square footage of land in Bal Harbour," an anonymous real estate insider disclosed to the publication.
Situated on the Intracoastal, the lot comes with approved plans for a lavish 13 000 square foot residence designed by Elicyon, a prestigious London-based firm.
The listing was handled by Ruthie and Ethan Assouline of Douglas Elliman, while the buyer was represented by Bento Queiroz (BQ Team | Florida Real Estate Agents) from Compass.
The Wall Street Journal was the first to break the news of this eye-catching purchase.
It is no secret that Neymar enjoys spending time in South Florida, though. The Brazilian has been seen courtside at Miami Heat games on several occasions.
He also attended the Miami Open last spring alongside basketball legend Jimmy Butler, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball event in the city earlier this year, and was photographed enjoying dinner with Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham in late March.
The connection between Neymar and Miami continues to grow, and fans are left wondering if a move to the MLS could be on the horizon.
Currently playing for Al Hilal, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain man has less than a year remaining on his contract in Saudi Arabia.

Injury disrupted the Brazil international's debut campaign last term, but he was recently overjoyed after returning to action in an AFC Champions League match earlier this month.
