A Manchester United star has reportedly been informed he can leave the club following the recent dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
According to talkSPORT, Antony has reportedly been told that he can leave United during the January transfer window after Ten Hag's sacking on Monday.
The club made the decision to part ways with the Dutch manager earlier this week, as they find themselves struggling in 14th place on the Premier League table.
Reports have since claimed Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as the leading candidate to take over from Ten Hag.
Now, it has emerged that Antony, 24, has already been given the green light to seek a new club in January.
While United are aware they will likely incur a significant loss on the player, both his former club Ajax Amsterdam and Fluminense are keen on acquiring his services.
Antony's current contract runs until 2027, but United may have to consider accepting any reasonable offers that come in for a player who has managed to score just one goal in five appearances this season.
Believed to be recommended by Ten Hag, Antony joined United in 2022 after showing promise in the Netherlands, although is widely considered a failed signing.
The Brazil international has struck only 12 times for the Red Devils in his 87 appearances since his €95 million (R1.8 billion) his arrival.
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team's Carabao Cup tie at Old Trafford against Leicester City on Wednesday.
