This season the Soweto giants will be determined to improve and go further in the competition. Jose Riveiro's side has been drawn to play against Disciples FC of Madagascar in the first round of the competition.
The Buccaneers are currently in Spain preparing for the new season and while their main focus will be on trying to win the league title, they would also want to do well on the continent and go as far as possible.
Their first target, though, will be to ensure they get to the group stages and navigate their way past that hurdle before thinking about the knockout phase of the competition.
DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns will also represent South Africa in the Champions League, but have been given a bye in the first round of the competition.
