The story
Gayton McKenzie, leader of the Patriotic Alliance (PA), has gone from prison cells to being in the political arena's forefront.President Cyril Ramaphosa unveiled his cabinet for the seventh administration on Sunday night, assigning roles within the Government of National Unity (GNU).
McKenzie replaces Zizi Kodwa as the Minister of Sport, Arts Culture A, a role that will carry many expectations for McKenzie, who will be tasked to enhance and elevate the sector.
The elated PA leader took to Twitter/X to express his excitement over his cabinet deployment, sharing a picture of him in a PA football kit and lacing up in blue PUMA boots, indicating his readiness for the role.

Many were quick to congratulate and welcome McKenzie to the Sport, Arts Culture world, while others highlighted what needs to be fixed in the sector, particularly in football.
A host of fans called for McKenzie to fix the South African Football Association (SAFA), with many users trolling the PA leader and joking about the extreme measures he could undertake in his role.
