Let's take a closer look...
Mabunda the preacher
Tiyani Mabunda, who retired in 2021 has been involved with his last club, Mamelodi Sundowns as a club ambassador and a co-host of their Pitchside Podcast.
Away from football, Mabunda appears to have truly found his voice as a preacher at the ECG (Enlightened Christian Gathering) The Jesus Nation Church in Pretoria.
The Polokwane-born ex-baller is well known for his devotion to Christianity and his unapologetic support to self-proclaimed prophet, Shephard Bushiri.
Mabunda has been following the "Major One" since his playing days and credited the man for saving his career back in 2015 after his wife took him to one of Bushiri's passionate services as the midfielder was struggling with a spate of injuries.
A video of Mabunda preaching at Bushiri's church in Pretoria has gone viral on social media, and it sees "Sugar" encouraging congregants to pray for all the political parties in South Africa ahead of this year's elections in May.
Take a look:
Here's how social media has reacted to Mabunda's consistent support of Bushiri:

I don't have a problem with Tiyani Mabunda being a pastor, I actually think it is commendable; but what is with the accent? Does he have to have a foreign accent to be a recognised preacher? pic.twitter.com/biHlfVncfN

Considering he's a former player, I am not gonna judge him for this. We can't expect him to be like Lerato Chabangu, Skapi Malatji, etc. when there's a way of extorting money and making a living.

You're late if you're bringing it for mockery purposes. The boy has been loyal to his beliefs since his playing days. pic.twitter.com/U0LGN8QDzK
