Fans give Bafana a heroes welcome
Bafana Bafana exceeded the expectations of many at this year's Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast by finishing third, securing their bronze medal in a 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Hugo Broos' players and staff were greeted by a partisan crowd at the OR Tambo International Airport, including EFF President Julius Malema and members of the party.
With their medals around their necks, the players greeted and took pictures with the supporters, who were patient enough to wait despite Bafana's landing at a later time than expected.
