Although he joined the Herons just a few months ago following his free-agent exit from Paris Saint-Germain, the club's failure to reach the MLS play-offs has led to rumours suggesting that the Argentine could be interested in a temporary move away from the club.
In recent weeks, Messi has been linked with a short-term switch to Saudi Arabia and to former side Barcelona. However, the 36-year-old has said he is looking forward to time off with his loved ones ahead of the 2024 season in the United States.
"I will train, I will play our upcoming match and I will try to get here (to the national team) in the best possible way for November," he said, according to The Telegraph.
"After that, I will enjoy the holidays in Argentina. It's the first time that I am going to have more days off in December, with the holidays, with peace of mind, with my people.
"In January, I will return (to Miami) again to do pre-season, start from scratch and prepare as best as possible as always."
Messi, who only recently returned from an injury, scored twice for Argentina in their 2-0 away victory over Peru in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
