The Nigerian marksman is now goalless in three Serie A matches, and in Gli Azzurri's 0-0 draw against Bologna on Sunday, the 24-year-old was visibly angry about being taken off with the encounter still in the balance.
The Lagos native was seen in a fiery exchange with head coach Rudi Garcia after he was replaced by Giovanni Simeone, during which he reportedly told the French tactician that he needed to have two strikers on instead of just the one.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian champions were seriously considering fining last season's top Serie A scorer as a result, but it has now emerged that the 2023 Ballon d'Or nominee requested a meeting with the squad, in which Garcia was present, to let them know that he meant no disrespect to the manager, and clarified his actions too.
The same report suggests that Osimhen wanted to redeem himself for his missed penalty earlier in that game and attributed that as the reason for his furious reaction when he was substituted.

It is further claimed that, following that meeting, Napoli have decided against punishing the player and now regard the incident a thing of the past as they look to return to winning ways in their next league outing against Udinese on Tuesday night.
