A winner has reportedly materialised in the race to become Manchester United's newest owner.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is believed to have emerged victorious in the race to acquire the record Premier League winners, beating out competition from one of Britain's richest men, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The protracted saga, which began when the club was initially put up for sale in November 2022, seems to be finally coming to an end.
As per The Sun, the Qatari royal is on the verge of procuring the renowned football institution for a sum of £6 billion (R142 billion).
The same report claims that a specific date has been arranged for Sheikh Jassim to assume control. Notably, the much-criticised Glazer family is expected to relinquish their ownership stake in the club.
Ratcliffe had been a prominent contender in the bidding process. However, the abovementioned English publication has indicated that his proposal might have involved allowing the American family to maintain partial ownership, something that would have outraged much of United's fanbase.
In a different turn of events, Sheikh Jassim now looks poised to execute a full acquisition of the three-time European champions.
It is alleged that he has plans to make investments in the team's home ground, Old Trafford, their Carrington training complex, and overall infrastructure, all while working towards enhancing the quality of the players in the first team.

The official announcement of the takeover could be forthcoming as early as the next month, signifying a new era for England's most successful side.
