According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have made their interest in Gunners forward Folarin Balogun known following their 3-1 defeat to West Ham United this past weekend.
The United States of America international was in prolific form while on loan at Stade Reims last season, finding the back of the net 22 times in 39 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
Despite the 22-year-old's form in France, though, the New York-born attacker does not seem to be in Mikel Arteta's plans at Arsenal, and the forward is now believed to be willing to trade the Emirates Stadium for Stamford Bridge in search of consistent opportunities at the highest level.
The north Londoners are said to value Balogun at £50 million (R1.1 billion), but no interested parties have come close to matching that figure so far, with AS Monaco the most recent club to have had a bid rejected.
The Hale End academy product is, however, not the only target for the west Londoners in the last few days of the window, with Ajax Amsterdam's Mohammed Kudus, Brendan Johnson of Nottingham Forest and Olympique Lyon attacker Bradley Barcola also on the shortlist of candidates for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The same report claims that the Argentine tactician is wary of who to bring in as he wants them to complement the forwards currently at his disposal, namely Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja.
