With Lionel Messi's contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire at the end of the campaign, the French giants have reportedly found a replacement for the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The expectation amongst the PSG ranks is that the Rosario native will enter free agency once his deal in the French capital comes to an end, having become disillusioned by the Les Parisiens project. With Messi projected to leave the Parc des Princes, it leaves an opening to bring in a superstar attacker to the club and apparently Luis Campos has identified who that player could be.
According to Calcio Mercarto, the record Ligue 1 champions want Rafael Leao to be one of their marquee signings this off-season. The Portuguese is currently on the books of AC Milan, however, his contract at the San Siro concludes in 2024.
I Rossoneri have been trying to negotiate an extension with the 24-year-old but so far have failed to make a breakthrough and should talks continue to falter, the former Sporting CP forward could exit the home of the Italian champions at the end of the 2022/23 season.
The same report suggests that Leao's release clause at Milan currently stands at €120 million (R2.3 billion) but with the reigning Serie A MVP's contract up at the end of next season, the six-time European champions may be forced to sell him for a reduced price.

Campos was the man who first brought the Portugal international to French football when he was sporting director at Lille and his compatriot will be key in convincing him to sign for PSG. It is also said that the signing of Leao could convince Kylian Mbappe to stay at the club.
