Pep: I Don't Care About The Premier League & Carabao Cup

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he does not care about the Premier League or Carabao Cup after a disappointing week for the Citizens.

The Citizens were knocked out of the League Cup by Southampton on Wednesday night, before they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The defeat to Man United has given Premier League leaders Arsenal the chance to open an eight-point gap if they beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

"We played really good, our levels against them, they were an incredible threat, incredible counter attacks. But I congratulate the team, it's a pride to come here and play with this personality, they run behind us and expect one action and punish us in transitions," Guardiola told BT Sport.

"I don't care about the Premier League and Carabao Cup. We cannot win. We won [them] a lot. It's not a problem.

"The problem is we perform like we have done. Always we focus on that. So, Carabao Cup we are out. It doesn't matter.

"We perform how we perform, we are how we are. Today, we performed. And after we win, we win at another club."

Guardiola also shared his thoughts on United's controversial equaliser, with the Spaniard claiming Marcus Rashford was offside.

"Rashford was offside, Bruno Fernandes no. Whether Rashford distracts or not our keeper and our central defenders, I don't know, the rules are the rules," he added.

"Our second half was really good but of course in this stadium you have to keep doing it. We missed a little bit our threat up front, our players up front, we were a bit disconnected. But it's not wasy when they follow man-to-man. Their full-backs are close to our wingers. But yeah, I think we made a fantastic game."
