Two Former Pirates Stars Launch New Foundation

Two former Orlando Pirates teammates took to social media to reveal their new non-profit organisation.

Check it out!

What's the story?

Former Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa and his ex-teammate Brighton Mhlongo have started their own non-profit organisation.

The two close friends who are regularly spotted together at various events, campaigns and other ventures are eager to "fulfill the sporting gap within society," as stated on social media.

Manyisa Mhlongo Foundation

On Thursday, both Mhlongo and Manyisa took to Instagram to share the news of their new non-profit start-up.

The Manyisa Mhlongo Foundation strives to build communities on social media and as mentioned above, "fulfill the sporting gap within society."

Their slogan is "serving with purpose" and it's yet to be revealed by the former PSL stars as to what type of project they'll be tackling with this new organisation they've founded.

"The journey begins, thank you for your continued support, please do follow us back on all social media platforms as we welcome our new baby," said the ex-Pirates and Bidvest Wits goalkeeper, Mhlongo.

The two ex-ballers headed to Lesotho to visit a local football club in Maseru:

A joint venture for Mhlongo and Manyisa is unsurprising. The duo are regularly seen together on social media and have worked on campaigns together for Heineken including a Road Safety drive for the festive season.

In November last year, they were awarded with a certificate of recognition by the Gauteng Province at the 365 Men of the Year awards for being positive male role models.
