Explaining Robin van Persie's visit to Manchester United this week, the club said Benni McCarthy is among the coaches the legendary Dutchman is learning from as he seeks to gain valuable experience.

Earlier this week, the former Netherlands international was spotted at Carrington, United's training ground, after being invited by first-team manager Erik ten Hag.
Van Persie is currently working as a coach at boyhood club Feyenoord, where he made a name for himself before his exciting Premier League switch to Arsenal in 2004.
In an article published by the 20-time champions on their official website, the club stated that the 2012/13 Premier League winner has been "gaining experience with, and learning from, our coaching staff, including first-team coach Benni McCarthy, another former Premier League goal-getter".
Van Persie, 39, is on Feyenoord's coaching staff in the Eredivisie, while he is also the co-head coach of the club's U16 team.
His son Shaqueel is aiming to follow in his famous father's footsteps in the Netherlands, having impressed since joining Feyenoord's academy in 2017.
According to Transfermarkt, the 16-year-old has scored 14 goals in 13 appearances for the club's U17 team and is said to eligible to represent Morocco due to his mother having Moroccan ancestry.
Van Persie joined the Red Devils from the Gunners following a controversial transfer saga in 2012, before playing a key role in United's Premier League title triumph in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season in charge.

The Dutchman scored 30 goals across all competitions in the 2012/13 campaign, with 26 of those strikes coming in the EPL, along with a staggering 15 assists.
