After Ten Hag's arrival at Old Trafford, ex-Cape Town City head coach McCarthy was added to his technical team in a move that took South Africa by storm. The Dutchman later explained the decision to appointment the ex-Bafana Bafana striker was ultimately taken by him.
Ten Hag said he had been impressed by McCarthy's knowledge and enthusiasm in the days leading up to his employment, but it turns out that it has not only been the manager who has been excited by SA's record goalscorer's impact.
Speaking recently in an interview, Rashford told Sky Sports that the "attacked-minded" McCarthy has "definitely" helped him on the training ground.
"He's definitely helped me a lot. To have them attack-minded coaches is good for us in the squad, he's always there speaking to us about these things."
