Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has responded to whether or not he would like Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi to return to the Catalan giants.
Bayern Confirm Decision On Free Agent Ronaldo
The Argentine's future appears uncertain amid rumours suggesting he could be set to take his career to the MLS next season.
Messi has a contract in France that will run until the end of the 2022/23 campaign, meaning he would be legally allowed to listen to offers from other teams at the turn of the year.
Speculation has also suggested that the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner could be interested in a return to the Blaugrana, and Spanish tactician Xavi has said he would welcome Messi back with open arms.
"If Messi wants to, he can return to Barca at some point, sure," he said, according to Barca Blaugranes.
"Who wouldn't want to train him?"
Messi is currently representing Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice in as many games at the tournament so far.
The 35-year-old will be in action against Poland on Wednesday night.
