Bayern Munich have confirmed the decision they have made on free agent Cristiano Ronaldo, whose departure from Manchester United was announced earlier this month.
Bruno Reacts To Ronaldo Trying To Claim His Goal
The 37-year-old began the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a free agent after the Red Devils announced the mutual termination of his contract in England.
Ronaldo's exit from United, whom he served over two spells, came following a controversial and explosive interview he did with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, in which he publicly lambasted his teammates, manager Erik ten Hag and the Glazer family.
It is expected that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will find a new club following the conclusion of the tournament in the Middle East, although it will not be the German giants that offer him a deal.
Speaking about a potential move for Ronaldo this week, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn said the Bavarians would not be entering the race to sign the former Real Madrid talisman.
"I can rule out a move for Ronaldo," he told Sky Sports Germany.
"We've considered it, we all love Ronaldo but strategy is different. We've a clear idea, philosophy of how our squad should be put together."
Ronaldo Offered Big Money To Leave Europe
Ronaldo scored three goals in 16 matches for United in the first half of the 2022/23 campaign, and has struck once for Portugal in Qatar so far.
